Our verdict

0xPlaySlots opinion
7.1/ 10our score for this game

The one real strength is this Enhanced RTP build's 98.01% return, which leaves a house edge of just 1.99% on a high-volatility game. Free Spins carry the upside, because multiplier orbs feed a meter that holds its total for the round and can push a win toward the 15,000× ceiling. Its mechanics add nothing to the Gates of Olympus 1000 model they copy. The base game is thin, because groups of eight or nine low gems pay between 0.25× and 1× the bet.

About Gates of Heaven 1000 Enhanced RTP

The useful distinction in Gates of Heaven 1000 is between one orb, one tumble and the whole Free Spins round. The 1,000 in the title is the ceiling of a single random multiplier symbol. Several orbs on a qualifying tumble add together, while Free Spins keep a separate round-level meter that can grow across later spins. None of those numbers replaces the 15,000× maximum award. Reading the three scopes separately avoids the common mistake of treating a visible 1,000× orb as either a guaranteed bonus multiplier or the game's win cap.

Editorial takeaways

  • Eight or more matching regular symbols pay anywhere on the 6×5 board, then disappear and let the grid tumble until no new group pays.
  • Multiplier symbol values run from 2× to 1,000× and add together for a qualifying tumble rather than multiplying one another in sequence.
  • Four or more Scatters start 15 Free Spins, three or more inside the round add five spins, and multiplier symbols feed a persistent bonus meter.
  • Ante costs 1.25× and raises the natural feature chance, while the direct purchase costs 100× and opens the same 15-spin round.
  • This Enhanced RTP build returns 98.01% and plays at high volatility with a maximum win of 15,000×.

Limitations and version notes

  • The 98.01% return belongs to the Enhanced RTP build and not to every version of the game, so the rules screen is worth checking before playing.
  • Without a multiplier, a group of eight or nine low gems pays 0.25× to 1× the bet, so the smallest base-game wins return the stake at best.
  • Base-game multiplier orbs only multiply wins from their own tumble sequence, so even a 1,000× orb is lost when that sequence produces no win.
  • The game copies the Gates of Olympus 1000 model of tumbles, multiplier orbs and a Free Spins meter, and adds no rule of its own.

Pay-anywhere tumbles

Base + bonus#01

At least eight matching regular symbols are visible anywhere on the grid.

The matching symbols pay and disappear, then the symbols above fall into the gaps and new symbols drop in from the top.

The chain continues while each new board keeps producing a win, and it ends on the first replacement that pays nothing.

Random multiplier symbols

Base + bonus#02

One or more coloured multiplier symbols land during a spin or tumble.

The visible multiplier values are added together, and the total multiplies a win from that tumble sequence instead of each orb multiplying in turn.

  • Each of the five multiplier symbol families draws a random value from 2× to 1,000×.
  • A 1,000× symbol is the top value of one orb, not the starting multiplier for a bonus.

Free Spins multiplier meter

Bonus#03

A multiplier symbol lands during the Free Spins round.

Its value is added to the round's multiplier meter, and that total is applied when a later tumble sequence produces a regular-symbol win.

The meter keeps its total for the rest of the awarded Free Spins and does not carry into the next paid base-game spin.

15,000× win ceiling

Base + bonus#04

The total win approaches the game's maximum award.

The payout is limited to 15,000× the bet.

No higher award follows from the 1,000× multiplier label.

Bonus rounds

Free Spins

Free spins
15 spins

Land four or more Scatter symbols anywhere in the base game.

Three or more Scatters during the feature add five Free Spins.

Multiplier symbols feed one round-level meter instead of resetting after each individual free spin. The feature begins with 15 spins whether opened naturally or through the direct purchase.

  • Uses Pay-anywhere tumbles, Random multiplier symbols, Free Spins multiplier meter, 15,000× win ceiling.

The return is the reason to pick this over its model

Gates of Heaven 1000 is the Gates of Olympus 1000 model in a heaven-themed Zeus skin. Groups of eight or more pay anywhere on a 6×5 grid, winning symbols tumble away, random multiplier orbs land, and Free Spins collect those orbs on a meter. It adds no rule that changes how that loop works. What this build brings is a price: it returns 98.01%, a house edge of 1.99%, on a high-volatility game. My reading is that the edge is the whole case for it. The paytable is too small to matter without an orb, the 15,000× ceiling is the multipliers' work, and both purchases buy faster access to the Free Spins meter rather than a stronger one. That adds up to a well-understood engine at a good price with nothing new to show.

It also sits in the same Pragmatic Play family as Sweet Bonanza 2500, where the big multiplier on the label and the limit on a round are different numbers. Here the gap runs from a 1,000× orb to a 15,000× cap, and the space between those two figures is where this game is decided.

Without an orb, the gems barely pay for the spin

Five of the nine regular symbols are gems, and a group of eight or nine of them pays 0.25×, 0.4×, 0.5×, 0.8× or 1× the bet. The red gem hands the stake back and the other four pay less than it. Ten or eleven gems lift that range only to between 0.75× and 1.5×. The real step on the ladder comes at twelve. On eight of the nine symbols, the twelfth match adds more than the whole eleven-symbol group pays: the red gem jumps from 1.5× to 10× and the chalice from 2× to 12×. On the crown it exactly doubles the award, from 25× to 50×.

The largest board of regular symbols I can count out is twelve crowns for 50× beside twelve hourglasses for 25×. That totals 75×, fills 24 of the 30 cells and leaves six, too few for a third paying group. Against the 15,000× ceiling, 75× is one two-hundredth. A tumble chain would need two hundred boards of that size in a row to close the gap, so the ceiling belongs to the multipliers.

In the base game, that work has to finish inside one tumble sequence. Orb values add rather than multiply, so a 1,000× orb beside a 2× orb gives 1,002×, and three 2× orbs give 6× where multiplying would give 8×. When the sequence produces no win, the orbs that landed in it are lost. At full strength a single orb is more than the cap can hold. A 1,000× orb on twelve ruby rings is exactly 15,000×. The same orb on twelve crowns would be 50,000× before the limit cuts it to 15,000×, less than a third of its face value. On eight blue gems it makes 250×.

Free Spins carry the game because the meter outlives the tumble

Four or more Scatters open 15 Free Spins, and three or more inside the round add five, a third of the starting allocation. Each orb that lands adds its value to the meter. The meter keeps that total for the rest of the awarded spins and applies it to later regular-symbol wins. This is the one rule in the game that lets an orb's value survive past its own tumble sequence, and it changes what the thin paytable means. With 100× or more on the meter, eight red gems pay at least the 100× buy price. With 1,000× or more, eight blue gems pay at least 250× and eight crowns at least 10,000×.

Seen from the meter's side, the cap arrives sooner than the orb ladder suggests. Twelve crowns reach 15,000× once the meter holds 300×. Twelve hourglasses get there at 600×, twelve ruby rings at 1,000× and eight crowns at 1,500×. Past each of those points a bigger meter adds nothing to that group's award, because the total win is limited to 15,000× the bet. The meter's job is to climb high enough that ordinary groups hit the ceiling, and a retrigger gives it five more spins to do so. When the round ends, the total is gone: the meter does not carry into the next paid spin.

Both purchases buy the meter sooner, not a bigger one

Ante Bet raises the paid spin to 1.25× and doubles the chance of the Scatter combination that opens Free Spins. The arithmetic of that trade is clean. Twice the trigger chance at 1.25 times the cost means the stake spent per natural trigger falls to 62.5% of the standard rate, a 37.5% saving in stake terms. The ante does not start the bonus, and the round it leads to is the same 15 spins.

Buy Free Spins costs 100× the base stake and opens that same round directly. Its best case is the ceiling, 15,000× the bet, which is 150 times the purchase price. For scale, six Scatters landing naturally pay 100× on their own, exactly the buy price, and open the round as well. What the 100× removes is the base game, the part I have already argued pays little without an orb. For a player who wants the meter and nothing else, the buy is the coherent way to use this engine. The ante fits the other kind of player: it keeps the base game and its orbs, and it still cuts the stake spent per trigger.

Worth choosing over its model only at 98.01%

The 98.01% belongs to the Enhanced RTP build and not to every version of the game, so the rules screen decides whether my argument applies at all. Without that figure, nothing in its tumbles, orbs or meter separates this game from the model it copies.

At that figure, it suits someone who already wants a high-volatility multiplier hunt, accepts that the small gem groups pay less than the spin, and judges the game by what the meter can build across 15 spins. It is the wrong game for anyone who wants steady base-game pays or a new idea. The smallest gem groups return the stake at best, and the tumbles, orbs and meter at its centre come from the Olympus 1000 model.

Pros

  • This build returns 98.01%, a house edge of 1.99% on a high-volatility game
  • The Free Spins meter keeps its total for the round, so later small groups can pay large
  • Ante cuts the stake spent per natural trigger to 62.5% of the standard rate
  • A 1,000× orb on twelve ruby rings reaches the full 15,000× ceiling

Cons

  • Groups of eight or nine low gems pay 0.25× to 1×, so the base game is thin without an orb
  • Adds nothing to the Gates of Olympus 1000 model it copies
  • Base-game orbs are lost when their tumble sequence produces no win
  • The 98.01% return belongs to the Enhanced build, not to every version of the game

Verdict

This is the Gates of Olympus 1000 engine with nothing added, and its 98.01% return is the one real reason to choose it. Free Spins carry the upside through a meter that outlasts each tumble, while eight or nine low gems pay 0.25× to 1× in a thin base game.
