About Chaos Crew 3
Chaos Crew 3 is a 5×5 Hacksaw Gaming slot. Its 19 fixed paylines pay from the leftmost reel. The central sequence begins when the low symbols spell CHAOS across a row. That starts an EPIC DROP reward spin. Glitch Dogs then reveal Crazy Multipliers and build a separate multiplier above each reel.

How Chaos Crew 3 calculates wins
Regular line wins and EPIC DROP rewards use different calculations. Keeping them separate makes the game much easier to understand.
Payline win
- 1
Match paying symbols from the leftmost reel on one of the 19 fixed paylines.
- 2
A Cranky Cat substitutes for regular paying symbols when it participates in the combination.
- 3
Apply the displayed Cranky Cat value. Multiple participating Cats multiply their values together first.
Cranky Cat values are 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x and 20x.
Reel Multiplier reward
- 1
Glitch Dogs move to new positions and reveal Crazy Multipliers.
- 2
Sketchy Skull values add to Reel Multipliers; Cranky Cat values multiply them.
- 3
The five final Reel Multipliers are added together and the result is applied to the stake.
A naturally landed CHAOS word starts one EPIC DROP reward spin. Bonus rounds keep building Reel Multipliers until their lives run out.

What is distinctive about Chaos Crew 3
Our verdict on the maths, and where the game falls short
What matters here
- Chaos Crew 3 has a 96.18% RTP setting, with 5/5 volatility and a 30,000× maximum win.
- Three FS scatters open CTRL + ALT + CHAOS, four open THE KORRUPTED K9, and five open the hidden AN EPIC GLITCH round.
- Chaos Crew 3 has a release date of 25 September 2025.
Limitations
- Unbought play returns 96.18%, which is lower than every purchase option at 96.29% to 96.41%, so the natural route is the worst-value way to play.
- Spelling CHAOS needs all five letter symbols in order across one row, and the reward is a single spin that resets the grid afterwards.
- The CTRL + ALT + CHAOS round ends after three spins when neither a Crazy Multiplier nor a Glitch Dog appears, so a 100× purchase can close almost at once.
- The maximum stake does not cap feature purchases, so a single buy can cost more than the largest spin.
Editorial conclusion
7.1/ 10our score for this game
The real strength is how Sketchy Skulls add up to 100× to a reel while Cranky Cats multiply that reel by up to ×20. The refilling three-life meter and the Chaos Upgrade in the higher bonuses give those rounds genuine depth. The base game is thin by comparison because five sharks on a line pay only 20× before any Cranky Cat multiplier. At 96.18% the base game returns less than all four purchases, so the pricing pushes play toward the buy menu.

Chaos Crew 3 builds a strong multiplier engine and makes the base game the worst-priced way to reach it
Alex Petrov
Bonus Hunter at 0xPlaySlots
The engine is good and the free door is the worst priced
Chaos Crew 3 is the third game in Hacksaw Gaming's Chaos Crew series, following Chaos Crew 2, and my reading of its maths comes down to one argument. It is a reel-multiplier engine mounted on a line paytable that mostly exists to feed it, and its return figures reward anyone who skips straight to the engine. The engine earns the game its score. The base game, the one route into that engine that needs no purchase, is the worst-priced way in.
The frame is conventional. A 5×5 board with 19 fixed lines paying from the leftmost reel is an ordinary line slot, and between features the game behaves like one. The features run on different arithmetic: EPIC DROP and CTRL + ALT + CHAOS settle by adding five reel multipliers together and applying the total to the bet, and the two higher free-spin rounds build those same reel multipliers. A third entry in a series cannot lean on first impressions, so I judge Chaos Crew 3 on whether that arithmetic is worth what it costs to reach.
Nineteen lines of sharks stop at 380×
The paytable is short and flat. All five CHAOS letters pay the same 0.2× for three, 1× for four and 4× for five. The glove and the brain pay 10× for five, the stop sign and the pizza slice 15×, and the shark tops the table at 20×, level with the Cranky Cat's own five-of-a-kind. In the base game no line pays more than 20× without a Cat on it, so a board covered edge to edge in sharks collects 19 × 20× = 380×. That is under 1.3% of the 30,000× maximum.
The letters show where the design's attention went. Three of them on a line return a fifth of the stake, because their real job is to sit in a row as C, H, A, O and S. Those are five different symbols, so the row that starts the reward spin is not a letter win in its own right.
On the lines themselves, the Cranky Cat is what lifts a win past the paytable. Only one Cat can land on a reel in the base game, and Cats in the same combination multiply together first. A shark line with one ×20 Cat in it pays 400×. With two it pays 20× times ×400, or 8,000×. With three the line would be worth 160,000×, and the maximum-win stop ends the round at 30,000× instead. The cap is reachable from base-game lines on paper, but a line holding a single Cat tops out at 400×, and 19 of those make 7,600×, so any line route to the cap needs at least two Cats multiplying together on one line. Without Cats, the base game is a 380× paytable waiting for a feature, and that is the thin frame the score has to carry.
Skulls before Cats is the whole engine
EPIC DROP and all three free-spin rounds are built on two operations. A Sketchy Skull adds between 1× and 100× to a reel multiplier. A Cranky Cat multiplies it by ×2, ×3, ×4, ×5, ×10 or ×20. The Epic version of either acts on every reel at once. One adds and the other multiplies, so order decides size. A reel at 1× that takes a +100× Skull and then a ×20 Cat stands at 2,020×. The same two reveals the other way round make 20× plus 100×, or 120×.
The natural EPIC DROP shows both the floor and the ceiling of that arithmetic. Spelling CHAOS turns the five letters into Glitch Dogs, each revealing a Crazy Multiplier, over five reel multipliers that start at 1×. Those already sum to 5×, and each reveal adds at least 1× more, whether a +1× Skull or a ×2 Cat on a reel still at 1×, so the reward spin cannot settle below 10×. At the top, three of the five reveals in the right order, +100×, ×20 and ×20 on one reel, take that reel to 40,400×, and the stop pays 30,000×. One reward spin can reach the cap.
The weakness sits next to the strength. The trigger needs all five letters in order on one row, and the prize is a single spin, after which the grid and the reel multipliers reset. A good drop is over as soon as it is counted.
Three lives make the cheaper bonus the fragile one
The free-spin rounds let the same arithmetic persist. Each opens with three lives, each life is one spin, and any Crazy Multiplier, or the first Glitch Dog, refills the meter to three. In CTRL + ALT + CHAOS the reel multipliers hold for the whole round and are summed at the end. That is the right structure for this engine: a round that keeps producing multipliers keeps running, and each Skull raises the base the next Cat multiplies. Under that structure the cap stops being remote. Five reels at 300× each sum to 1,500×, and a single Epic ×20 Cat turns that into exactly 30,000×.
The cost is the dead start. CTRL + ALT + CHAOS, the three-scatter round and the 100× purchase, ends after three spins if neither a Crazy Multiplier nor a Glitch Dog appears. Bought at 100×, that is a short and costly round.
THE KORRUPTED K9 is what the doubled price insures against. Its opening grid holds at least four Crazy Multipliers and one Glitch Dog, so it cannot start from nothing, and it adds the Chaos Upgrade. That symbol adds its value, from +1× to +100×, to every eligible Crazy Multiplier and Glitch Dog in the 3×3 area around it before they reach the reels, so a +100× Upgrade beside a +100× Skull turns it into a +200× Skull. The Upgrade refills no lives and is removed before the next spin, which means it enlarges a productive round without extending a dead one. Four scatters open the same round naturally. Five open AN EPIC GLITCH, which starts with a grid full of Crazy Multipliers, a Chaos Upgrade and at least one Glitch Dog. That top round has no direct buy, but the K9 purchase can lead into it.
The return table tells players to buy
At its 96.18% setting, unbought play returns less than any purchase: BonusHunt FeatureSpins return 96.29%, THE KORRUPTED K9 96.36%, Byte Me EPIC DROP FeatureSpins 96.38% and CTRL + ALT + CHAOS 96.41%. Stated as the share kept, the base game holds 3.82% of what is staked through it and the 100× buy holds 3.59%. The route that needs no purchase is the worst-priced one on the menu, and that is the pricing flaw the score reflects.
Each purchase has its own case. CTRL + ALT + CHAOS is the best priced on paper, with the highest return and a ceiling of 30,000× ÷ 100, or 300 times its cost. THE KORRUPTED K9 halves that ceiling to 150 times its 200× price and gives up 0.05 points of return, and in exchange buys a start that cannot be empty, the Upgrade and a route into AN EPIC GLITCH. I count that as fair. Byte Me EPIC DROP FeatureSpins is a CHAOS row on demand: 200× buys one EPIC DROP with at least five Crazy Multipliers, the count a natural CHAOS row brings, so the 10× floor worked out above is 5% of its price and its ceiling is also 150 times its cost. BonusHunt FeatureSpins charge 5× for a spin that is ten times as likely to open a bonus, which doubles the bonus chance per unit staked, and a capped result on one of those spins is 6,000 times its cost.
Cheaper per unit is not cheaper per decision. One CTRL + ALT + CHAOS purchase carries 100 × 3.59%, or 3.59× the bet, in house edge, about 94 times the 0.0382× edge on a single base-game bet. A K9 purchase carries 7.28×. Purchases can also exceed the maximum stake that caps an ordinary bet.
Line-game players should look elsewhere
Chaos Crew 3 suits a player who wants multiplier rounds, treats the buy menu as the main entrance and accepts that the 100× door can close after three spins. Anyone who wants the line game to matter should look elsewhere: without Cats, the 19 base-game lines top out at 380×, and the letters that pay 0.2× for three are there to spell a word. The add-then-multiply ladder, the refilling meter and the Upgrade make one real strength with genuine depth. A flat paytable and a return table that makes natural play the worst deal hold the game at good rather than excellent.
Pros
- Skulls add up to 100× per reel and Cats multiply by up to ×20, so order decides size
- Any Crazy Multiplier refills the three-life meter, so a productive free-spin round keeps running
- THE KORRUPTED K9 opens with four or more Crazy Multipliers plus a Glitch Dog
- Every purchase returns more than the base game, led by the 100× bonus buy at 96.41%
Cons
- Without Cats, 19 base-game lines of sharks top out at 380×, under 1.3% of the 30,000× cap
- Unbought play at 96.18% is the lowest return on the menu
- Spelling CHAOS takes all five letters in order on one row for a single reward spin
- The 100× CTRL + ALT + CHAOS buy can end after three empty spins
Verdict
Chaos Crew 3 earns its score on reel multipliers that Skulls raise and Cats multiply, carried further by the refilling life meter and the Chaos Upgrade. A 380× line paytable and a 96.18% base return that trails every purchase hold it back.
